Principe Pallavicini - Amarasco Cesanese 2015 (86 tsomw points) In the glass a dark red color with garnet reflections. On the nose intense aromas of dark red fruit, nutmeg, roses and spices. On the palate, soft and round, easy drinking with soft tannins. Flavours of ripe red fruit, earth, coffee and balsamico. Winemaker notes: Grape varieties: Various clones of Cesanese 100% Vine training system: 5,800 vines per hectare, 50 years old, Guyot trained Production per hectare: 5 metric tons Vineyard altitude: 250 meters a.s.l. Area of production: volcanic hills south of Rome. Pebbly and somewhat chalky. Harvest: by hand at the end of October with careful selection of the grapes. Production Method: classic red wine with frequent délestage. Ageing: 12 months in oak botti barrels, followed by ageing in bottles. Organoleptic characteristics: Intense ruby red colour with hints of garnet. The broad ethereal nose has typical notes of nutmeg, red rose and a subtle spicy nuances. The palate has great thrust but is balanced, mouthfilling, with a long finish. Food pairing: red meats, hard cheese; also superb as a meditation wine. Alcohol volume: 13.5 % -
